Team Behavioural Profiling Systems

DiscUS employs the internationally favoured DISC Theory as its basis for profiling the behavioural styles of individuals and the behaviours required for different job roles. DISC Theory has its origins in the ancient Greek philosophers and DISC is an acronym for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance. DISC Theory promulgates that these four factors are present in every person's behavioural style, but the mix of the factors differs from individual to individual and determines the type of role an individual is most comfortable playing in the work situation. DiscUS is unique in its ability to match people to job profiles and, in reverse, job profiles to people.

A brief explanation of the four DISC factors follows:

DOMINANCE: Dominant individuals are independently-minded, motivated to succeed, decisive, and generally very effective at getting their own way even if it sometimes means adopting an aggressive stance. Most leaders are high in Dominance.
INFLUENCE: Persons high in Influence are communicative, socially confident and need to interact with others in their work lives. They can tend to be impulsive and irrational in their efforts to gain social acceptance, but their charm and charisma will carry them through!
STEADINESS: This factor describes people who are patient, persistent and conscientious. They have a real interest in the problems and feelings of others and are sympathetic listeners. They are particularly good team members and are capable of fulfilling support roles.
COMPLIANCE: The Compliant individual is concerned with structure, detail and fact and displays high levels of precision and accuracy. Their passive style requires that they prefer to work in defined, structured environments with clear procedures, rules and codes of conduct.

There are many applications for DiscUS. These include the more obvious applications such as recruitment and matching people to jobs. DiscUS is also widely and very successfully used to manage conflict, build teams, develop employees, identify leadership potential, career counsel and improve negotiation and sales techniques.
